How to Register

  • In Person: Voters in Connecticut may submit a registration form in person at their local town hall or voter registration agency.
  • By Mail: Voters may download a printable registration form and mail it to their local town hall or voter registration agency.
  • Online: Voters in Connecticut may register online. Applications are available in English and Spanish.

The deadline to register in person, by mail, or online to vote in the 2016 Presidential Election on November 8th is November 1, 2016.

Election Day Registration

Election Day Registration (EDR) permits anyone to register and vote in person on Election day who meets the eligibility requirements for voting in Connecticut and is not already registered, OR is registered in one town but has moved to another town.

EDR is not available at your polling place (Community Room in the Town Hall), but is available at a designated EDR location in town (Registrar's Office), beginning at 6am.  You will need to provide proof of identity and residency.

Where do I Vote?

Eligible Hampton voters can cast ballots in person at the Hampton Town Hall from 6am to 8pm on November 8, 2016. An IVS option is available at the polling place for voters with disabilities or any voter who prefers this option.

Do I have to show a photo ID to vote?
The short answer is no, but for more information on when and if you have to show photo ID at the polls, please visit the Secretary of State's site HERE.

Absentee Voting

Absentee Voting Privileges are available to residents who are: military members stationed outside of their voting jurisdiction; living and working overseas; or unable to attend polling stations due to physical disability, illness, religious beliefs, or work/ family obligations.
