TOWN OF HAMPTON
Legal Notice
The legal voters and those qualified to vote in Town Meeting are hereby warned to assemble in Town Meeting at the Hampton Elementary School, 380 Main Street in Hampton, Connecticut on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. to transact the following business:
Items 10 and 11 will adjourn to referendum vote to be held on Thursday, May 21, 2015 from Noon to 8:00 p.m.
- Call to order.
- To elect a moderator for said meeting.
- To authorize the Board of Selectmen to borrow, if necessary, money to defray expenses until other funds are available.
- To nominate and elect one member to the Regional District 11 Board of Education for a term of three years beginning with their first Board meeting in July, 2015.
- To authorize the Board of Selectmen to enter into agreement with the Commissioner of Connecticut Department of Transportation for the expenditure of funds available July 1, 2015 for the fiscal year July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016 for improvement and maintenance of Town roads.
- To authorize the Board of Selectmen to approve and accept Local Capital Improvement Funds (LoCIP) from the State of Connecticut for road improvement.
- To approve the 5 Year Capital Improvement Plan including the 5 Year Road Plan.
- To hear discussion and act on the question, “Shall the Town of Hampton approve expenditure of up to $175,000 from the General Fund to purchase a plow truck for the Public Works Department?”
- To hear discussion and act on the question, “Shall the Town of Hampton approve the sale of 376 Providence Turnpike for $70,200?”
- To hear discussion on the General Government Budget for FY July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016 as recommended by the Board of Finance, and to appropriate sums of money as required.
- To hear discussion on the Hampton Elementary School Education Budget for FY July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016 as recommended by the Board of Finance, and to appropriate sums of money as required.
- To transact any other business proper to come before the meeting.
Adjournment.
At its meeting held on May 5, 2015, the Board of Selectmen voted, pursuant to Section 7-7 of the Connecticut General Statutes, that items 10 and 11 on the call of the May 14, 2015 Annual Town Meeting be submitted to referendum vote on May 21, 2015 between the hours of Noon and 8:00p.m. at the Town Hall, 164 Main Street, Hampton, CT.
The designation of the questions on the ballot for said referendum vote shall be as follows:
- “Shall the Town of Hampton appropriate $1,627,923for the General Government for the 2015-2016 fiscal year?”
- “Shall the Town of Hampton appropriate $2,174,969 for the Hampton Elementary School for the 2015-2016 fiscal year?”
