Public Works Department

The Public Works Department performs road maintenance, mows grass, prunes/removes brush/trees, picks up litter, plows snow,  and paints. The crew is also responsible for maintaining trucks and equipment at the Town Garage, and assisting at the transfer station as needed. The Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance of substantial portions of Town property,  including highways and the Town's transfer station facilities. The Town Highway crew works 5 days per week.  The transfer station is open two days per week (Wednesday and Saturday).

 

Between the hours of 7:30 am to 3:30 pm please call 455-9715 to contact the crew or to leave a message on their answering machine located at the Town Garage.  If you are calling on a Tuesday or Thursday, and cannot reach anyone at the Town Garage, please call 455-9132 Ext. 2 between the hours of 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.

 

For after-hours emergency road problems on evenings and weekends please contact the State Police.

 

Winter Snow and Ice:  Sand is available behind the New Town Garage for residents use only (no contractors please).
